White River

To trout fishing enthusiasts, the White River in northern Arkansas is treasured water. The state record rainbow trout (19-lb., 1 oz.) and cutthroat trout (9 lb., 9 oz) were caught here. Trophy brown trout and brook trout also thrive, and their state records were catches from a nearby, similar river.

White River

Beautiful scenery is reason enough to visit. White River waters flow past limestone bluffs and through woodlands where you will see eagles, deer and abundant wildlife as you float by. Wooded shores bloom white and pink in the spring with dogwood and redbud trees while autumn colors glow every shade of gold. The City of Cotter has been named Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
