Year-round Fishing

Visit
Cotter, Arkansas - Trout Capital USA any season because Arkansas
has year-round fishing. The choice is yours. All four seasons
produce almost equal fishing success. Call 1-800-364-GAME (4263)
to order a fishing license from Arkansas Game & Fish, or
buy it locally.
The choice is also yours
on what method to use. Visitors often take a traditional
float-fishing excursion. On a half or full-day float by an
outfitter, you’ll be in a standard, long
and lean johnboat with captain’s chairs. A fishing guide
will "get you on fish" and provide all your needs.

What could you catch? Three to five pound brown
trout are common. The record brown is just over 40 pounds.
Rainbows of 11 to 16 inches are plentiful. Cutthroat and brook
trout also can be found. There's plenty of public access available
and excellent shore or wade fishing depending on water levels.
Visit
the Arkansas
Game & Fish Commission Web site to download your
own copy of all the fishing regulations.
A grand slam here is not only catching a rainbow, but a brown
trout, a cutthroat and a brook trout, too.
